Aspirins

What happens if you overdose on both aspirin and tylenol at the same time?

I know that tylenol affects the liver, but does aspirin affect the liver too? It's for a school report, thanks.

  1. You would most likely die.
  2. Most all medications that enter the body goes through the liver, to be broken down, before going to the rest of the body. Any drug, taken in overdoses amount, therefore, would have an effect on the liver. Aspirin can cause problems in the stomach area, also, as high doses can cause ulcers in it. Tylenol taken with alcohol can cause "instant" liver cell damage. Overdosing on tylenol can cause liver cell damage. Therefore, combining it with aspirin, would cause it, also. When the cells of the liver become damaged, it causes inflammation to develop inside the liver and it causes the liver to enlarge in size even though it is surrounded by a membrane capsule. This is not good, as it can lead to where the liver cells die off and form scar tissue in the liver that blocks the flow of blood..it is known as Cirrhosis.
