How many Aspirins would it take to kill you/knock you out?

And NO i'm not looking for a way to commit suicide or harm anyone else. I'm just curious on how potent this drug is.

  1. Why in the world would you want to know? *shakes head*
  2. depends on the potency of the aspirin.
  3. asprin is a blood thinner......It would hurt pretty bad doubt it would knock you out unless you took alot.
  4. A lot Aspirins will cause stomache bleeding and pain.
  5. well it wouldnt knock you out. you would sit there while you slowly bleed to death from the inside and it could take days. not the best idea ever. plus if ya lieing and it really is cos you want to top ya self then ring samaritans.
  6. Do some tests, then get back to us and let us all know.
  7. Do not go there buddy, heard of "curiosity killed the cat"
  8. the LD 50 of aspirin is mouse: LD50 = 250 mg/kg; Oral, rabbit: LD50 = 1010 mg/kg; Oral, rat: LD50 = 200 mg/kg. Human oral LD50 ESTIMATED at 357 mg/kg. Other references state that a 10 g dose (143 mg/kg) may be fatal in humans. LD50 means that 50 percent of the people taking this dose will die. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Median_lethal_dose this page has a few examples, so you can compare toxicity. MOST LD50 numbers for humans are estimated. but i think the numbers related to known poisons may be actual numbers. BTW - even water had an LD 50 for humans. ====================================== i know one person who took 300 aspirin and didn't die.
  9. Always stick to the recommended dosage on the bottle and don't exceed the limit. Aspirin can can cause bleeding if too high a dosage is taken, and should not be taken by children. Aspirin wouldn't knock you out as far as I know. Be especially careful with paracetamol (which is not the same as aspirin) as many cold cures etc contain it as an ingredient and the dangerous dosage is very low compared to the recommended maximum.
