What heals acne faster . Salicylic Acid or benzoyl peroxide and which one is overall better?

- Salicylic Acid is better. Benzoyl Peroxide is a strong chemical... too strong for most skin. What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne. Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available: http://www.17acnetreatments.com Hope this helps :-)
- Benzoyl peroxide is much stronger, but if you have very oily skin, a combination of the two products will help heal the acne faster. But you really shouldn't practice that for long periods of time. Talk to your doctor or a dermatologist about which treatment is right for your skin type .
- Salicylic acid is good I used Panoxyl to control my acne ask your dr about it not sure if you can get it without a prescription
- salicylic acid is basically a roto-router for your pores (i dont know if i spelled that right) that lifts the debris from the pore. its an exfoliant, while benzoyl peroxide, on the other hand, is more of an antibacterial that targets the p. acnes bacteria that causes breakouts. b.p., in my experience, has made my skin much worse, due to the fact that its so drying, and if your skin is really dry your oil glands compensate by kicking into overdrive, pumping more oil, and therefore, causing MORE breakouts. its a vicious cycle, i say. if you have access to insurance and a dermatologist, the best stuff in the world for acne (if you have a pretty bad problem like i had) is topical antibiotics. i use clyndamiacin t-gel and have had clear skin ever since. its a miracle. if you only have mild breakouts (or even semi-bad breakouts and you cant get to a dr.), try pure 100% tea tree oil. you can find it in most drugstores in the skincare or the nail section .its a great antibacterial that may be drying, but also has softening properties; just use a small amount every night where you need it. i use it when i run out of my prescription. but make sure you moisturize, and preferably something without an acne medication (a cheap one i like is the clean and clear light moisturizer. i cant remember its exact name but it has no salicylic in it and its in the green and white pump bottle. 6 bucks!) so, my short answer is- neither! :)
- 1. Did you know that your toothpaste can help to reduce the swelling of your pimples? Apply some before you sleep and you will see the immediate effect the next morning. 2. Mix lemon juice with rose water. One lemon with same proportion of rose water will do. Apply it on your face and rinse it only after 30 mins. Constantly doing so will not only get rid of acne and pimples, but it also has the effect of lightening the skin blemishes. 3. Use fresh mint juice to apply on your face. 4. Strawberry leaves can also help to reduce the pimple swelling. 5. Orange peel can also be used. Basically, you need to mash it or blend it, mix with some water to form a paste before applying on your problem area. 6. Mix turmeric powder with some mint juice before applying on the acne. Wash it off with clean, lukewarm water after about 30 mins. 7. Even cooking condiments such as vinegar and salt have their uses as home remedies for acne. Mix the two together, before rubbing the mix over the pimples. Leave it there for some 10 to 20 mins before removing with lukewarm water. 8. Make a paste with cucumber before using it as a facial mask. Leave the mask on for 30 mins daily. Doing this will prevent acne from breaking out. 9. If you can tolerate the smell of garlic on your face, then go ahead to apply some fresh garlic on the pimples. They will disappear after repeated applications. 10. Even the milk that you drink is useful as a home remedy for acne. Blend nutmeg with milk and you have a powerful paste to zap those pimples away. While these have worked for many folks who tried them, it does not guarantee it will work for some people
