I think I burned my face with salicylic acid. Please help! :(? I used Clinique Clarifying Lotion (purple) the other morning and I think I applied too much, 'coz by the afternoon, my cheeks and chin were all red, bumpy, and scaly. The next morning, I decided to put some Neutrogena Rapid Clear cream on my cheeks, forehead, and chin (it's a stupid idea, I now realize), and by that afternoon, the areas were still red and now had tiny white bumps which seemed to ooze something sticky when I scratch them (another bad idea?). All the tiny white bumps were back this morning when I woke up. The red areas aren't as raised and bumpy as before, just thick and scaly. And the white bumps will probably be back in several hours, I don't know. I know I deserve all that's happening to my face, but I just want to know what's going on and what I can do about it. Troubled white heads? I am a 22 yr old male college student and have had acne for as far as I can remember. I started to get early breakouts when I was around 12 or 13. Being involved in sports from a young age to present, initiated my skin irritation. It seems like there is no way for me to get rid of white heads. Throughout middle school and high school I was uneducated about acne and that caused severe scaring on my cheeks up to my eyebrows. Besides the scaring and low self confidence, I have numerous clogged pores and repeated white heads in the same places. It seems that if the pores get cleaned out, the same pores get re clogged within days. There are also clogged pores on my face that will not get unclogged due to the thickness of my skin. My biggest concern on my face is on my outer cheeks. I have been determined to eliminate junk food and eat a variety of foods. I have been using a benzoyl peroxide bar when I shower and then a 2% salicylic acid cream. The dermatologist recommended Differ-in gel .3% to help dry out the skin. I have not seen much results over a 4 month period. What will help unclog those deep/reoccurring white heads? Please give me the truth!

Honestly after using this and others i just feel as though, they give temporary results then do nothing and just cause you to waste money on the companys products. Is acne facial wash just a scam??

Which medication should i use?? Ok i have a few bright red pimples on my face..1 is a new untouched one and the other 2 i have popped..i really want them to be gone by tomarrow what should i put on them? i have...toothpaste, 10%max strength benzoly cream, salicylic acid gel stuff, and some adult acne tinted treatment that dries out super fast....so should i go with the cream/gel acne stuff or one of the ones that really dry them out-toothpaste, adult tinted acne cream

How Does This Skincare Regimen Sound? I have mild acne I think (3-5 pimples on each side of my face). I am staying clear of the benzoyl peroxide. However I plan on using this regimen below, please let me know how it sounds. Morning: 1. Wash Face with Gentle Face Wash 2. Does anyone know if these products cause birth defects? Several questions below: I recently learned that Triclosan a common ingredient in almost every antibacterial hand soap & body wash on the market may have teratogenic effects. I also learned that pregnant women should not use products containing Salicylic Acid which many face washes and zit creams do. Now, I'm wondering if the hand sanitizer I use is safe. It has Ethyl and Isopropyl Alcohol as some of the main ingredients. Are these absorbed into the skin? Can they cause Fetal Alcohol Syndrome?? Why doesn't anyone tell pregnant women this stuff??? I'm nearly 7 months pregnant and have been using products with these ingredients for years. Do you think my baby is at risk? Has anyone out there used these products and had healthy babies?

too much acne!? I am jsut so sick of it! EVERDAY i cleanse my face (2x) put toner on (1-3x) put on salicylic acid acne cream (2-4x) and moistureize but still I have 24 ZITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS SO NOT FAIR because my brother has had one zit in his life and he NEVER washes his face but puts on benzoyl preoxide cream once in a while & thats IT. Rheumatism cream? My grandma is aching due to rheumatism and she've been given a bottle of rheumatism cream. She used it and the effects are great but now she doesn't know where to get the cream from. I'm currently searching the net on her behalf hoping to know where i can buy it from. What are some good over the counter and home treatments for psoriasis?? I have little patches of psoriasis on my elbows and one of my knees. I use some topical creams right now containing either coal tar or salicylic acid.

Only way to rid acne is to keep skin dried out--causing wrinkles.Moisturizers make acne return. What can I do? Over the counter acne treatments (benzoyl peroxide) work GREAT--get my skin free and clear of acne. However I hate to keep using it b/c it's drying to the skin. For me, dry face = wrinkles and premature aging. My skin doesnt look supple and moisturizers bring back ance. Problem is, once I discontinue using benzoyl peroxide, pimples come back full force. What can I do? Proactive works too but it's also benzoyl peroxide. The moisturizers they make breed acne and slow healing. Salicylic acid doesnt work as well for me but I'm sure that since it's an acid it will probably dry the skin out with long term use. Can anyone recommend a simple regimin that keeps acne away without the use of drying products. Or can anyone recommend a moisturizer or night cream that you have used that doesnt bring back your acne.

What can I do to cover up acne on my back? I was it with a moisturizing soap and a salicylic acid wash was I still have pretty bad acne on my back. I have two very beautiful halter dresses that I love to wear but I'm kind of self-conscious about the scarring. I also have pretty bad ance on my face and I use a very good cream foundation that has a lot of coverage and doesn't make me break out. Is this herpes? Hi, I have this recurring problem, I get these small red bumps around my mouth(very similar to pimples but are unaffected by pimple creams salicylic acid and benzoyl perozide). I started getting them after sharing a bong(water pipe) with someone with the same symptoms. They do NOT blister, pop or scab over like herpes. When they start to appear they are somewhat painless and never come to a point. They are round red bumps, and they recur every few months or so and go away gradually. I know they are contagious because everyone who has shared the same bong has them. also ive tested negative for HIV and herpes bloodwork. What could this be??? anyone seen anything similar to this before? what can I do to get rid of this problem? Ive seen different doctors multiple times, they look at it for a few seconds and rule out anything STI related. They say its just pimples and that I am just being paranoid. I tell them I think its contagious and recurring and all that, but they say its just acne. I can't find any information online, and I don't think it is a cold sore because it never blisters, and no fluid comes out.

I'm trying several different products and experimenting with different things to keep my skin clear, and I'm wondering how well it works. Previous Neutrogena products I've used have worked, but have dried my skin out because of too much salicylic acid. I would be using this product in conjunction with the Clear Pore Astringent (which has salicylic acid, which is why I don't want it in a cleanser as well) and an anti-aging moisturizer with sunscreen during the day or a night cream. acne products?!? so i been using 2 products from neutrogena so far. one is called "oil-free acne wash cream cleanser" (salicylic acid treatment) other one is "deep clean gentle scrub" oil free as well. But the problem is i still get acne.... although it does direct me to use twice a day but i only use it once a day... can that honestly be a big factor to why it is not working for me? i still break out, not alot i get like maybe 1 or so in a week-month. should i be following up with a lotion afterwords? i use the acne cleanser first then then scrub right after. i just use nviea lotion. and about acne marks... i really to get rid of them ~ ~ i have about 3.. they just wont fade!

I recently decided to try Neutrogena's Oil-Free Cream Acne Cleanser on my face as a better means to keep it clean. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing mild-to-moderate acne on my chest and back within the last few months and I was wondering if I could use the cleanser on my back and chest as well. Keep in mind that I also apply Ziana gel to my face and back at night, and I take two doses of 75mg. Doryx (doxycycline) per day. The cleanser contains a 2% dose of salicylic acid, and I have been using Panoxyl bar soap (10% benzoyl peroxide) on my back and chest for the past 6 months. However, I would like to discontinue the BP on my chest and back because it is extremely irritating on my skin and I feel as if I have become immune to it.

What acne creams or gels can clear BLEMISHES fast?? Yes, i go to a detmatologist but the stuff they give me, i have to use it at night before bed and always fall asleep before i even get a chance to use it. Anything that can clear blemishes, that i can wear during the day, goes on clear, and that works fast??? I have 1% salicylic acid gel but it does not work fast.. like you have to put it on 10 times a day to even notice a difference, and it peels off.
