Salicylic acid peel and other acne treatments? I have been battling skin problems for the past 10 years and although my acne isn't too terrible now, I have lots of clogged pores all over my face, upper arms, and all over my back. I also have some pretty moderate scarring on my lower back and upper arms. Salicylic Acid makes fingers feel like smooth-yet feel like it will peel, feel really uncomfortable? I was applying Oxy salicylic acid cleansing pad on my acne with my thumb, index, and middle fingers. After two or three days, I could feel that those fingers are very smooth, yet it feel very insensitive. Does salicylic acid and lactic acid make a good combination for acne? i'v been using proactive it worked for the first time, then i stroped, when i got acne again (it got really severe) it didnt work for me the second time. I am still currently using proactive, but i still get bumps all the time. I just use it at night though. Yesterday, I had my first 20% salicylic acid peel and I was wondering about how long it will be before my skin starts to dry and flake off? I have seen somewhere that it can take about three days before the dry skin starts to fall off, but my skin doesn't feel dry at all and the flaky sections of skin I have are showing no signs that they will come off. I also read that some people's skin won't even shed, is that normal? I moisturize twice a day and used a very strong facial lotion after the peel. I do my next peel in two days, (since its a low percentage of BHA the peel works best twice a week for six weeks straight)...is it possible my skin won't shed till after a few treatments? I have a big event in five days and I would prefer if my skin wasn't dry and flaky. Im doing the peels to try to counter my mild acne, how soon will I see results? Murad products/salicylic acid? i recently purchased the Murad skin care system, and my skin after just one day was already feeling softer, looking better. However, on the third morning (today), i washed my face around 10AM, and felt a slight burning sensation. i hear that's common, so i ignored it, and continued with the rest of the system. After the lotion, though, i noticed my cheeks were still really red, more one than the other. It's now 4PM and my cheeks are still red and feel tight. My room mate (after laughing at my tomato-like face) told me that the acid in the product is probably what caused the burn, and he thinks it's similar to what they use in chemical peels. Does anyone know about salicylic acid, what it does, or about the Murad products? i have a date tonight, so ideas as to how to calm the skin would be amazing, too!

Salicylic acid burn - PLZ HELP? Yesterday I got a 20% Salicylic / 30% Lactic acid acne treatment. basically it said to use 1ml of the solution and apply to the face for 30 seconds to a minute. Sensitive to benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid? I'm 21 years old, and just this past summer I started having reactions to skin cleansers I was using. My face would get red and itchy, and it would dry out and peel. I would even get these big red welts on my neck. I found out that I can't use any products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, because they were causing my skin to react. Unfortunately, I still have the same complexion I did in high school, and I need to use an acne cleanser, but every one of them has one of the two ingredients. Should I use Neosporin or salicylic acid to treat an already popped pimple? I popped a pretty nasty pimple that I had on saturday, and of course, all hell broke loose. D; I just put some Neosporin back on the spot so that maybe I can get it to re-scab and I can just maneuver the makeup around it or something. Any advice on how to get the sore to dry up more? Are Salicylic Acid Wart Removers safe to use? I recently figured out I had a wart on my right pointy finger. salicylic acid acne cream gone wrong...? I think I used it a bitttt too much on my pimple. A layer of my skin has peeled off and beneath has revealed a pink blotch of irritated skin. You can see the difference in skin layers. (It isn't A LOT, but definetly visible from up really close) What should I do? It's right on my nose and completely visible! Should I use neosporin? Vitamin E? I need something to help repair my irritated and red blotch of skin!

Which works best? I plan to start doing a 15% salicylic acid peel every ten days. To maintain and further the results would I be better off using a 15% glycolic acid serum or mandelic acid?

acne/redness underneath my skin? ? last june i went to the derm and she said a chemical peel would help me with my scarring. i don't really remember what exactly what kind of peel she did, i think it was either glycolic or salicylic acid peel. it really burned when she did it, but she said its suposed to. right after the peel, she gave me my 2nd isolaz treatment. ever since then, i have really noticable scars and red marks under my skin. i don't have a lot of actual pimples, like bumps, and my face is smooth, but it looks like i still have acne because of these red things under my skin...and its hard to cover them up with make up. idk if it was the peel or the combination of that with the isolaz, but its been almost 4 months and i stil have the same marks and they aren't clearing up and its becoming very frustrating! does anyone know what i'm talking about and how i could make it clear up. also any tips on how to cover them up better?

Is it too much? I'm trying to clear up my skin and get rid of my hyper skinpigmentation. I came up with a skin care regime but I don't know if I'm doing to much. *ACNE* Is this normal!? Hey, I have mild acne on my chin and around my mouth which usually consists of pustules (white pus-filled pimples) and ordinary red pimples without pus, sometimes inflammation is there too! Salicylic Acid followed by Retin-A? I have some very deeply blocked pores on my face which are very deep under the skin. I am trying to unblock them by using an over the counter Salicylic Acid Peel (a BHA) which is fairly mild and would like to follow up with some prescription stength Retin - A. Do you think this woul be an okay way of treating these deeply blocked pores?

Microdermabrasion? i have oily, some what sensitive skin. i have very few pimples (from clogged pores), dark spots and scars from acne, and tiny-almost-invisible bumps all over my face (which i assume them as clogged pores?). I'm doing some treatment recommended by a dermatologist called clear peel which they apply SA (salicylic acid) all over my face and leave it for 5 minutes and then wipe it off. i've done 2 sessions and i've been seeing improvements. but i'm considering a microdermabrasion since i heard it also help improve my skin texture and reduce dark spots and acne scars as well. should i just switch to it or should i continue my current treatment for about a month till all my clogged pores are gone?

What acne creams or gels can clear BLEMISHES fast?? Yes, i go to a detmatologist but the stuff they give me, i have to use it at night before bed and always fall asleep before i even get a chance to use it. Anything that can clear blemishes, that i can wear during the day, goes on clear, and that works fast??? I have 1% salicylic acid gel but it does not work fast.. like you have to put it on 10 times a day to even notice a difference, and it peels off.

They all contain Salicylic Acid at 2-5% concentrations, I also have had my first Salicylic Peel, which I am to repeat every fortnight. 4-5 Days after the peel and starting the products, my skin has been erupting like crazy, but ONLY in the areas I get breakouts to start with, mainly my chin and upper lip area. Luckily, they are all whiteheads, which end up drying and peeling off, but there is about15-20 of them! However, I notice each day they become smaller in size, right now they're the size of a pin-head. My question is, do the products lift up every impurity out of my pores first and then began to clear my skin?? Also, does this mean the products are effective in terms of there actions? When to stop Plantar wart treatment? My doctor recomment DuoPlant-- it's an over the counter salicylic acid cream. It makes the skin turn white and then peel off. When I was first using it it made the black dots show up and harden. Several layers have peeled off since and the whole area just looks white (no more dots). Does that mean the wart is gone? The directions said to apply every day for 3-4 weeks and I don't want to continue for longer than necessary (it's been 3 weeks). Has anyone removed these warts before? When can you tell that a wart has been fully removed? I have had a plantar wart on the bottom of my left foot for the past month and it has now seem to vanished. my face is sooo red i need help please? ok well its never been like this before, its like getting a sunburn except only in some places. i put on stuff with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid in them, a LOT, last night, and then it was so dry, and when i woke up this morning the parts where i put it were sooo red and the skin was all peeling off those parts too. it's so embarrassing and it hurts too. everybodys asking what happened. what would work the fastest and the best?

Dry peeling skin on my nose? i'm not sure if it's sunburned, or just an acne product i use that contains salicylic acid (i don't have bad acne, just a few spots occasionally.), but my nose recently has been very dry and it's peeling. It's red too, but it doesn't really hurt unless i peel some of the skin, in which case it stings a little. This peeling makes it very hard for me to apply foundation and cover up to hide the redness, and it appears very cakey and ugly after i do attempt to apply makeup. I use Mary Kay Balancing Moisturizer every night and under my makeup, but so far it hasn't done a thing. I've tried sunscreen too, but that doesn't do anything either. Any advice, tips, or products i can use to make this problem go away? especially when applying my makeup?
